In 2022, Ebro began recording his fourth EP, choosing this time to address one of his favorite subjects: Halloween. Ebro has always adored Halloween and the autumn in general, and with Nocturnal, Ebro wanted to inject his own brand of spooky into the playlists that dominate the season of witches and ghouls.
Some of Ebro’s more recent musical discoveries and inspirations have their fingerprints all over the sound of the tracks on Nocturnal. The EP still features Ebro’s electropop and dance music roots, but also present are the overdriven and distorted guitar riffs of metal, the grand swells of synth one hears in goth music, and the highly produced walls of sound prevalent in progressive rock.
This is a Halloween-themed release, make no mistake about it, but Ebro still manages to plumb personal depths with a song about missed connections (Ghosted), songs about facing one’s own mortality (Grim Reaper), and a song about fighting personal demons (Monster in my head).
Set for release at the beginning of October, 2022, Nocturnal marks a new and exciting phase in Ebro’s discography, with various elements and new inspirations coming together in a way that builds upon what Ebro has created before.
