Little Ebro

Born in Syracuse, New York to two loving parents, Ebro spent the earliest of his formative years living in the U.S. before moving to Egypt at the age of six. As you can see in the photo above, he always knew he wanted to be glamorous, and was reaching for purses as soon as he could crawl to them. The first music he remembers is from this time, as his parents loved the original R&B divas as well as good-looking male vocalists with silken voices. Artists like Ross, Summer, Vandross, Gaye, Houston, Cher, and their contemporaries were the soundtrack to this part of his life, as their records were constantly played on the family’s turntables. As a result, the music he makes today is heavily influenced by those legendary recording artists.

Egypt

Moving to Egypt meant adjusting to a different culture and making new friends, and Ebro excelled at both of these tasks. He was enrolled in a private international academy with a well-funded arts program, and took up musical theater. In the photos above we see him singing on stage during school productions, where he honed his skill of weaving multiple showtunes into coherent medleys. During his time spent in Egypt he was exposed to a greater variety of music including traditional Arabic styles, which served as another influence on his then quickly developing personal songwriting and storytelling style.

New York,

New York

At eighteen years of age, Ebro moved to NYC to further his education in theater and music, and to pursue a career in musical theater. He enrolled in programs at AMDA and after study, refinement, and proving his ability in multiple AMDA productions, he received an associate’s degree in musical theater. It is during this period that Ebro undertook the serious work of writing his own songs, some of which would end up being recorded for his first EP; Desert Dream.

Becoming New York’s most glamorous singer

After the conclusion of formal studies, Ebro moved to upstate New York and began working on his musical career. As of 2020, he has issued three extended play releases. His abilities continued to grow and improve under the tutelage of Mimi O’Neill, a classically trained singer and vocal coach with 40 years teaching experience. With multiple monthly shows and several concerts a month, Ebro quickly gained fame in the capital region of New York. His music reached fans and industry professionals alike, and tracks featuring his vocals became regularly heard songs on local radio stations and in local clubs and bars.

Desert Dream

2013

His first release came in 2013, and featured many songs which Ebro had first conceived during his time at AMDA. The style of music strongly reflects his early influences, resulting in a solid debut EP. Desert Dream showcases Ebro’s wide range of ability and laid the foundation for a future in music, instead of musical theater.

Private Affair

2015

Ebro dropped his second EP to rave reviews from members of the Albany arts community and dancers at clubs across the Hudson valley. More focused on a singular style at this point, Ebro had found his signature sound and embraced it.

Feel Me

2019

There are times when the right producer and right vocalist click at the right time, and a fire is sparked. Feel Me is the result of one of those rare events. The work Ebro has put into honing his craft over the years are easy to appreciate on this EP, as it contains a collection of highly polished tracks. Like his previous releases, this one has had people tearing up dance floors in upstate New York since it was unleashed upon the unsuspecting public.

Event hosting

A few years ago, Ebro realized that his normal personality and mannerisms would make for a perfect Emcee and party host, and he stepped into a different spotlight. Since then, he has become the host of choice if you want to put on an event people will remember.

His comedy style contains just the right amount of self deprecation, honesty, lies, shade, and adult themes. His way with words can bring a bar to tears of joy or sorrow, and his voice carries an attitude that captures attentions. He is equally comfortable hosting a variety show in a bar as he is a burlesque review or a cosplay contest at a convention.

The list of events Ebro hosts just keeps getting longer, and just as many people are starting to know him as the charming host he is, he’s also releasing the best music of his career. This makes him a double threat, and as a result Ebro often performs while hosting events, easily switching gears between comedy, singing, and hype.

If you’re planning a party, you definitely don’t want to sleep on Ebro, because he’ll be the life of it.

Today
